Abarth and Alfa Romeo triumph in the “Sport Auto AWARD 2017” in Germany

The readers of the “Sport Auto” magazine picked the #abarth 695 biposto as their favourite.

Alfa Romeo Giulia also won two prizes at “Sport #auto AWARD 2017”.

A total of 234 models competed in 25 categories in the 25th edition of the “Sport #auto AWARD 2017”. In total, 13,211 readers cast their votes expressing the enthusiasm for sports cars like the #abarth 695 biposto and #alfaromeo Giulia.

In particular, the most powerful standard production #abarth ever won in its category at the “Sport #auto AWARD 2017”. The car’s 139 kW (190 hp) and numerous racing components drove it to the top on the popularity scale.

The readers of famous German “Sport Auto” magazine also awarded the high-end 510-hp #alfaromeo #giuliaquadrifoglio with the first place in the imported “Standard Sedans/Station Wagons up to 100,000 Euro” category. In the imported cars list, the #alfaromeo Giulia 2.0 Turbo Veloce was the readers’ top pick of the “Standard Sedans/Station Wagons up to 50,000 Euro” category. Both versions of the Giulia topped their respective category, beating many German competitors.

The readers of “Sport Auto” have decided: their favourite is the #abarth 695 biposto. In the “Sport #auto AWARD 2017” competition, they chose the most extreme and powerful standard #abarth ever in the imported “standard small cars” category. With a turbocharged 190-hp engine and plenty of racing equipment, the #abarth 695 biposto took the second place in the overall rating of its category, beating many German competitors.

“In the sports car segment, the #abarth 695 biposto held its own against very strong competitors. Wining in this segment is further confirmation of our strategy to make racing sports technology available in standard production cars. 'Born on the racetrack, for life on the road' is more than just a slogan for us,” said Harald Koch, Brand Manager #abarth at the award ceremony in Stuttgart.

Not by chance, the #abarth 695 biposto comes closer to the “street-legal racing car” claim than any other model in the history of the brand with the Scorpion badge. The 1.4-litre turbo engine delivers 190 hp at 5750 rpm. The two-seater Italian weighs just 997 kilos, can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 230 km/h.
