New Book Festival event! Sandi Toksvig comes to Edinburgh in November Tickets available now

Comunicato Stampa disponibile solo in lingua originale.

Sandi Toksvig is a true national treasure. She joins us for the #edinburgh launch of her new memoir – this special Book #festival #event is your only chance to see her in Scotland.

Much like its beloved author, Toksvig’s Between the Stops wittily defies convention. A memoir with a twist, the new book from the QI and Great British Bake Off host takes a look at life from a different perspective – the top deck of the number 12 bus in London – made magical as only Toksvig can. Illuminated by her musings on the sights and sounds of the city and the memories they conjure, this delightful book takes you on a joyful journey and inspires us all to pay more attention to the world on our doorsteps. Her story is as surprising as it is hilarious, taking in everything from her memories of navigating the Zambezi River in her father’s canoe to being asked to read the Ten Commandments aloud on Mount Sinai by a stranger, via anecdotes about life in the Footlights with Emma Thompson and meetings with figures as diverse as Prince Charles and Graham Norton.

Talking to the equally razor-sharp Scottish journalist Ruth Wishart, Toksvig shares some of the funniest and most moving stories from the book, and discusses her life and work as a broadcasting legend; her passion for theatre and the solace she finds in books; the will behind co-founding the Women's Equality Party and her drive for justice and equality. You'll have the chance to ask your questions at the end of the #event too.

Tickets cost £15 (£12 concessions), or you can order a pre-signed copy of the book with your ticket for £35 (£32 concessions). Your ordered book will be ready to collect at the #event.
